Trip Report to Siberia, September 2002

In September 2002 I traveled to Krasnoyarsk, Siberia in south-central Russia. I took over 600 photos, the best of which are annotated here, separated by location.

After a 3:30 AM flight from Krasnoyarsk to Irkutsk, we drove for 2 and a half hours around the southern tip of Lake Baikal. Along the way we stopped and there was this tree covered with little pieces of cloth. The native people believe that tying a piece of cloth to the tree, or leaving coins and cigarettes for the spirits, will bring you good luck. » Next
